FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EVANSVILLE, IN – February 15, 2011 – Knight Township Trustee Kathryn Martin announces today the launch of the official township website, located at knighttownship.com. As the first township in southern Indiana with an internet presence, this site embodies the Trustee’s forward-thinking vision and commitment to the needs Knight Township residents.
“Our residents will now be able to access information about our township and services 24 hours per day, 7 days a week,” says Trustee Martin. “Through the use of free and open source resources, coupled with the generous donation of Evansville photos by local photographers L. Kent Whitehead and Jesse Daniels, we are proud to provide this site without any cost incurred by taxpayers.”
In addition to information about Knight Township, including the forms of assistance provided to residents, the site features a community resource guide listing the telephone numbers and websites of many local charitable organizations. Users will also find an interactive map of the township office location as well as biographical information about the Township Trustee and Board members.
Creation of the site was proposed to Trustee Martin in early January by township resident Terry J. Record. “When I heard the news about what my township has recently gone through, I looked for ways to give back,” says Record, who volunteered his time to construct the site. “When I saw that no township in southern Indiana had an internet presence, I began looking for creative ways to get Knight Township online without cost to taxpayers.”
Access to the new Knight Township website is available at knighttownship.com.
